Immigration and the Border part 1 Pre-Civil War-The way it is for now-with Matt Tullar
On January 8, 2019, the President proclaimed in an Oval Office address that “There is a growing
Humanitarian and security crisis at our Southern Border”. In a multi-part series called “Immigration and the Border”, The Way It Is will explore aspects of this crisis. Part one deals with the history of American immigration prior to the Civil War. I’m Matt Tullar and here’s my opinion.
As far back as I can remember, the American people around me were always busy and never all the same ethnicity. My British mother didn’t become a naturalized US citizen until I was about 10 and my parents had some super nice Italian friends with funny accents who lived down the street from our duplex in Watertown, NY.
